Q&A with Matt

  • Why are you running?

Because I love this community, and I believe a fresh voice can bring progress. With 16 years as a problem-solving attorney and decades of civic service, I’m ready to step up for Boardman.

  • What qualifies you?

I'm a lifelong resident, small business owner, attorney, and committed community volunteer. My work requires critical thinking, negotiation, and problem-solving, skills directly relevant to this job.

  • Can you fix Boardman’s flooding problem?

There’s no magic fix, but we need more urgency. I’ll advocate for flood mitigation, help impacted residents, and ensure open updates about progress.

  • What’s the role of a Trustee?

Boardman Township is governed by three elected trustees, each serving four-year terms. Trustees oversee:

    • Zoning and development
    • Road maintenance
    • Fire and EMS funding
    • Flood mitigation efforts
    • Township budgeting and spending
  • Are you affiliated with a political party?

I’m a registered Democrat, but this is a nonpartisan race. I’m focused on local issues, not party politics. I’m focused on giving back to the community that has given so much to me.
